In an exciting development for aspiring local footballers, a Cardiff City advanced development centre has now opened in Bristol. The Advanced Development Centre” has been set up at the Yate International Academy .

 

The not-for-profit, self-sustained advanced development centres aim to provide local talented players with an exceptionally high level of coaching and holistic player development in an environment which encourages player centred coaching, intelligent decision making and unorthodox creativity, thus mirroring the philosophy and working practices of Cardiff City’s Academy.

 

This is a new innovation for this area and we believe the time is right to progress into a modern style coaching system based on players’ development rather than results,” says Academy manager Lee Stevens who will head-up the new coaching centre along with his team of coaches and scouts.

 

“We will be holding trials for next season and the dates will be finalised and advertised shortly. We will offer youngsters in the area from Under-6 to Under-12 a unique opportunity to train and play in a coaching centre that is associated with Cardiff City, who will offer their professional support to both our players and coaches.

The coaching centre will operate from Yate International Academy and use the new floodlit artificial pitch for the sessions. We are grateful to them for the use of their facilities and the support they have given us from the beginning in making the ADC  a success.

 

Coaching programme

Players will undergo 6 weeks of training with an "Internal Games Night" against the other ADC in the group ( Cardiff, Newport & Monmouth ) at the end of each 6 week set, players will be assessed and either return to their own clubs or be asked to stay for the next 6 weeks.
All coaches will be fully qualified and be CRB checked
All players will also be allowed to play for their local teams
The Centre will be totally committed to the development of its players and coaches and will have a specific goalkeeper coach .
